Loyd Roberson
Loyd "Dale" Roberson, 78, of Chattanooga, died on November 6, 2009.
Dale, the epitome of a Christian gentlemen, was retired from Dupont. A member of the Brainerd Hill Baptist Church where he served as a head usher; was active in his Sunday school class and headed the church’s visitation program to the homebound and elderly members of the church.
A devoted gardener from whose garden his family and friends enjoyed wonderful vegetables that all will miss.
His daughter, Sandra Lee Roberson Boyd preceded him in death.
Dale is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Mary Bain Roberson, his daughter, Gail Roberson Secor; her husband, Al Secor of Chattanooga; grandsons, Robert Boyd and his wife, Christa of Knoxville, and Kennedy Dale Berresford and his fiancé, Christine Werth of Chattanooga; and granddaughter, Candice Lee Boyd.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 8, in the East Brainerd Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Dr. Richard Mason officiating. Interment will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 2–7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Chattanooga.
