Zoo Offers "Behind The Scenes" Tours

  • Friday, March 20, 2009

The Chattanooga Zoo is offering docent guided “behind the scenes” tours through April 17 at their location in Warner Park. Guests will observe chimpanzees, red pandas, snow leopards, jaguars, reptiles and many more animals from around the world in their natural habitats.

Tours leave every hour from 10 a.m.-3p.m. Explorers will have the
opportunity to encounter animals from Africa, Asia, Latin America and
North America. “A visit to the zoo is always fun, but you are guaranteed an extra dose of fun and learning when you are accompanied by a tour guide. You will learn personal facts about the animals, and even get to pet and feed one or two of those normally "off limits" critters,” said Zoo Director Darde Long.

Guests will receive a map to help navigate around the Zoo and younger
explorers will receive a free Zoo memorabilia packet including an
animal print hat and Zoo decal.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $8 for children ages 3-15. For more
information call 423.697.1339 or visit zoo.chattanooga.org.
