Willie Leonard
Willie Jane (Billie) Leonard, 94, died peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, March 31, 2009, in a local nursing facility.
Billie was a native of Burlington, North Carolina. She was married to Beede Leonard and worked as a drug clerk at Sid’s Pharmacy, Ridgedale and East Lake Drugs before her retirement. She was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church and a volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House.
Billie was preceded in death by her husband, Beede Leonard, her mother, Addie Jane Johnson, and her beloved granddaughter, Lori Jane Kaylor.
She is survived by her daughter, Jane Leonard Kaylor, her grandson and his wife, Jeremy and Kelli Kaylor, and two great-granddaughters, McKenzie Reese and Abby Elizabeth Kaylor, all of Chattanooga.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the staffs of St. Barnabas Nursing Home and the Health Center at Standifer Place for their blessed care of her.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Chattanooga Ronald McDonald House, 200 Central Avenue, Chattanooga, TN 37403.
Visitation will be from 2-9 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
Arrangements are by the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 404 S. Moore Road.
