Thomas Benning
Thomas Edsel Benning died on Saturday, September 12, 2009 in Chattanooga, Tn.
He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Annie Gore Benning; sister, Otha Hudgins; surrogate-mother, Lucy Benning; and a dear aunt, Katie Benning.
Survivors include his loving wife, Marilyn Banks Benning; sons, Larry (Regina) Benning and Gregory (Melita) Benning; daughters, Sylvia Benning, Loretta (Matt) Beasley, Brenda Crowder and Audrey (Alonzo) Brown; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren; niece, Janice Bivens; sisters-in-law, Genevieve Pyant and Elaine Johnson; many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Sept. 18, at 11 a.m. at Second Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Paul A. McDaniel officiating. Interment will be in National Cemetery.
