The Chattanooga Fire Department held its annual Fire Prevention Week Awards Ceremony on Monday at Hamilton Place Mall. With Fire Chief Randy Parker and Fire Marshal James Whitmire presiding, prizes were awarded to the winners of the fire safety quiz and the poster contest.

The fire safety quiz was given to students in grades K-5 at public and private schools in Chattanooga. The winners for each grade answered all of the multiple choice questions about fire safety correctly, and came the closest to guessing the number of alarms our department responded to during the course of Fire Prevention Week. Each winner received a brand new bicycle from Walmart and a helmet from T.C. Thompson Children’s Hospital Safe and Sound program.
