The Freedom Street Dance, a community celebration hosted by The Dunlap Yard, is set for Thursday, July 3, at the corner of Cherry Street and Walnut Avenue in downtown Dunlap. Kicking off the 4th of July weekend, this free, family-friendly event starts at 6 p.m. and features live music from Neon Moon: The Ultimate 90s Country Tribute and local rock band CampNormal.
The event will have dancing, food and beer, the organizers said the event promises a festive atmosphere for all ages, fostering community spirit in the heart of Dunlap.
"The Street Dance is a tradition in Dunlap. We want to bring it back and keep it going for years to come” says Daniel McGovern, organizer and owner of the Dunlap Yard. “I look forward to mixing some of the old traditions with some new ones and provide a memorable experience for both locals and those visiting our valley.”
The Freedom Street Dance is supported by local sponsors Mountain Valley Bank, Cain Development, and The Cookie Jar Cafe, showcasing Dunlap’s commitment to community-driven initiatives. All donations collected during the event will benefit the Josh Kell Memorial Foundation.
