In-Town Gallery welcomes Ashley Delaney, a mixed-media artist based in Chattanooga. Working primarily with found and recycled items, she begins by collecting materials that resonate with her. She will happily use anything that catches her fancy, dismantling and reimagining it into harmonious compositions.
Ms. Delaney said, “I see each item as carrying its own energy and story. My work is a continuous conversation and collaboration with the creatives that came before me. This approach not only honors the love and craftsmanship of prior use but also reduces waste, helping to keep my art sustainable. I invite viewers to see the magic in change and the possibilities that lie in transformation.”
Ms. Delaney earned her BFA in Theatrical Design with a focus on costuming from Abilene Christian University in 2008. In 2021, she was accepted as an artist at The Center for Contemporary Arts in Abilene, Texas, where she was featured in a nationally juried exhibition. Her work has been shown in two juried shows at AVA and has found its way into collections as far away as Austria.
Showcasing the creativity of local artists for 50 years, In-Town Gallery is located between the bridges on Chattanooga’s North Shore at 26A Frazier Ave., and is open Monday-Saturday, 11-6 p.m. and 12-5 p.m. on Sundays.
