The Board of Trustees of Hickory Valley Christian School named Jack Exum the head of school on Wednesday. His tenure will begin in June for the 2010-2011 school year.

Mr. Exum is a Texas native and received his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Faulkner University in Alabama and Auburn University, respectively. He has taught at both the elementary and high school level and worked as a missionary in both Ukraine and Guyana. Mr. Exum has also served at an administrative level in both elementary and secondary schools in Georgia and Alabama.

“Mr. Exum will be a great leader to take HVCS into the next decade,” J. Pat Williams, president of the board, said. “His depth of experience and passion to make an impact on the lives of children made him the obvious choice.”

Mr. Exum, his wife Andrea and their two children, will move to Tennessee in June.

Hickory Valley Christian School is a ministry of Hickory Valley Christian Church and will celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2010. HVCS is a private Christian school that strives for the development of each child’s maximum potential: intellectually, spiritually, socially, physically and emotionally.
