A flood warning for Lookout Creek has been extended through Monday afternoon.
And the National Weather Service said at 8:15 p.m. Sunday South Chickamauga Creek had reached 17.5 feet. It was at 17.8 feet at 5:15 a.m. Monday. Flood stage is 18 feet.
South Chickamauga Creek is expected to rise above flood stage on Monday morning and cause minor flooding, including at Mack Smith Road in East Ridge and at golf courses near where South Chickamauga and West Chickamauga Creek join..
West Chickamauga Creek had reached 10.7 feet at 10:15 p.m. Sunday. Flood stage is 11 feet. Minor flooding was possible in the vicinity of Cloud Springs Road.
As of 3 p.m. Sunday the stage was 13.5 feet and slowly falling on Lookout Creek. Minor flooding was occurring and additional minor flooding was forecast.
Flood stage on Lookout Creek is 12 feet. The creek will continue to fall to below flood stage by mid-day Monday.
The creek is causing minor flooding in Dade County, Ga., and extending across the state line into Tennessee.
