Drew Dudley, of Signal Mountain, attended Aviation Challenge at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center where he received the camp’s highest and most coveted award – The Right Stuff Award. This award, named for Tom Wolfe’s 1979 book The Right Stuff, is given to an outstanding trainee who goes above and beyond in leadership, teamwork and technology throughout the week.

Drew was part of a program specifically designed for trainees who have a particular interest in aviation. He spent the week training with a team that mastered flying maneuvers in F/A-18 simulators and learned the basics of air-to-air and air-to-ground fighter tactics.

Drew and crew returned in time to hear retired Space Shuttle astronaut Story Musgrave speak at their graduation.
Drew’s future goal is to become a pilot. When asked what his favorite activity was, Drew replied, “everything!”
