Johnny Butler
Johnny “J.R.” Ray Butler, 64, of East Ridge, died on January 2, 2012.
J.R. was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area and retried from Combustion Engineering with over 40 years of service. He attended Ebenezer Baptist in Bryant, Ala.
J.R. was preceded in death by his wife, Sundae S. Butler; father, Fred M. Butler and a brother, Lee Butler.
Johnny was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Joe Cosper; granddaughters, Jordan Cosper, Rachel (Tanner) Ford and Jessie Cosper; great grandson, Jeremiah Ford; mother, Bernice Butler; sister, Doris (Jim) Nelson and a brother, Fred (Karen) Butler; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 3-9 p.m. on Tuesday, January 3, and 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 4, at the North Chapel.
Services for J.R. will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the North Chapel with Reverend Todd Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Johnny’s name to the American Cancer Society, 6221 Shallowford Road, Suite 102, Chattanooga, Tn. 37421.
