2 Wacker Polysilicon Employees Killed In Fall At Charleston Facility

Two construction workers lost their lives on Wednesday night in a work-related accident while performing their job responsibilities at the Wacker Polysilicon North America plant in Charleston, Tn. 

They were pronounced dead at the scene by Bradley County EMS. 

The two construction workers fell to their deaths about 140 feet after a work platform failed.

“Wacker and its employees are deeply saddened by this tragic loss of life,” said Dr. Konrad Bachhuber, vice president and site manager. “We wish to extend our heartfelt sympathy and condolences to the families of the deceased construction workers.”

A thorough investigation about the accident in cooperation with local authorities is underway, officials said.
