6 Miss Tennessee Contestants To Be At Kidz Expo On Saturday

Dora the Explorer, The Cat in the Hat, Curious George and Clifford the Big Red Dog will have special escorts at Saturday’s Kidz Expo when they are accompanied by six Miss Tennessee contestants.

Miss Bristol Amy Catherine Flynn, Miss Metropolitan Ashley Sizemore, Miss Middle Tennessee Blue Raider Rebecca Lofty, Miss Mountain Lakes Madyson Foster, Miss Tennessee Valley Sarah-Taylor Argo, Miss Tri-Cities Lindsay Anne Hanson and the mascots will be welcoming guests to the event which will be held from 11 a.m.-7 p.m.

Tickets are $7 each and family four-packs will be available for $25.  Children under three are admitted for free.  There will be entertainment, interactive exhibits and numerous presentations along with vendors who specialize in merchandise for kids and families.  Headlining the event will be Victoria Justice of the Nickelodeon hit series “Victorious”.  She will have a photo session with fans at 3 pm followed by her on-stage presentation at 4:15 p.m.

The Miss Tennessee representatives will have a meet and greet from 11-11:30 a.m. following which they will be available for photos and autographs throughout the Expo.

·      Miss Flynn, 21, is a resident of Knoxville who advanced to the Hollywood round in the seventh season of American Idol which was eventually won by David Cook.  She is a junior at the University of Tennessee and a graduate of Knoxville Catholic High School.  She has her own YouTube channel http://www.youtube.com/user/acciethasme?ob=0&feature=results_main which has received over 240,000 hits.  She is a member of Sigma Kappa sorority.

·      Miss Sizemore, 23, is a Knoxville native who will be graduating from the University of Tennessee with a degree in Sociology.  She plans to obtain her Masters’ in Elementary Education and also hopes to start her own lifestyle and fitness business.  She is employed by a Knoxville church where she works with pre-school and kindergarten students.  Chi Omega alumnae, Miss Sizemore was voted the Best Female Vocalist at UT’s All-Sing 2011.

·      Miss Lofty, 24, is a native of Jasper, but now resides in Nashville where she is employed by Government Service Automation as a software trainer. A 2009 Journalism and Electronic Media graduate of the University of Tennessee, she is a second year graduate student at Middle Tennessee State University where she is studying for her Masters in Strategic Leadership.  Miss Lofty is a 2006 graduate of Marion County High School and was a scheduling intern for former Tennessee Governor Phil Bredesen.  She is an alumna of Phi Mu Sorority.

·      Miss Foster, 20, is from Cleveland where she graduated from Cleveland High School in 2009 and was the 2008 Miss Tennessee’s Outstanding Teen.  She is a junior at Birmingham Southern College where she is majoring in Dance with a minor in Business. Her career goal is to be a physical therapist specializing in dance rehabilitation.  Miss Foster is a lifetime volunteer with the Chattanooga Ronald McDonald House and has appeared at several events on behalf of the organization. She is also an active member of Chi Omega sorority.

·      Miss Argo, 22, will be receiving her Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Math next month from Middle Tennessee State University. She hopes to become an elementary or middle school math teacher upon graduation.  Miss Argo is the manager of a Murfreesboro tanning salon and is from Alamo, Tennessee where she graduated from Crockett County High School.  She has also shared her story of battling depression with audiences across the state.

·      Miss Hanson, 22, is from Oakwood, Ohio and will be graduating from Lee University with degrees in Telecommunications and Theatre. She is working with Subway Restaurants promoting the W82TXT campaign urging motorists not to text while driving (http://www.w82txtpledge.com/).  Miss Hanson was the Football Friday Scoreboard Girl for Tennessee Valley Channel 5 in Cleveland. Prior to attending Lee, she studied acting at The New York Film Academy for a year.

The ladies will be among the 36 representatives travelling to Jackson in June to compete at the 2012 Miss Tennessee Pageant which will be celebrating its 60th Anniversary in Jackson.  The newly-crowned Miss Tennessee’s Outstanding Teen Haley Butler of Nashville, who has been a violinist since childhood, will be performing on the Expo stage at 1:35 p.m.
