Information Is Sought In Attempted Robbery At Kennedy Jewelry

Information is being sought in an attempted robbery on Monday.

At approximately 5:22 p.m., Chattanooga Police responded to shots fired at Kennedy Jewelry, 2012 E Main Street. Officers found that a suspect had attempted to rob the business at gunpoint when shots were fired by both the suspect and the victim.  The suspect fled the scene on foot headed south on Mulberry Avenue.  

Officers quickly saturated the area and a possible suspect was found hiding in a yard about a block away. A rifle was also located which is believed to have been used in the attempted robbery. 

The victim had a minor injury to his stomach and was treated on scene by EMS.  The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released when available.
