Dr. Paul W. Holdridge (P.W.), 68, of Chattanooga, died on Saturday, September 7, 2013, after a lengthy illness.
Dr. Holdridge served the country in the United State Navy Reserve for six years. He served the community over his life as owner of H-Group Design, LLC, a home designer, mortgage banker, business teacher at Chattanooga State, member of the Alhambra Shrine's Clown Unit, Jesters, and as a York and Scottish Rite Mason. Dr. Holdridge also served his church and community as a Deacon, a church officer trainer, an elder, a church trustee and Sunday School teacher of the Brady/Friendship Class at Brainerd Presbyterian Church.
He was preceded in death by his son, Paul Wesley Holdridge II, his mother and father, the late Dorothy (Ballew) Nichols and Nick Nichols, of Chattanooga.
He is survived by his wife, Lois Holdridge; daughter; Lesa Carnes; granddaughter, Samantha Carnes; brother, Ronnie Nichols; and many wonderful nieces and nephews he loved very much.
A celebration of life will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 10, at Brainerd Presbyterian Church, 1624 Jenkins Road, Chattanooga, TN 37421, with Pastors Ronald Ragon and Jonathan Schwartz officiating.
Burial will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 11, at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that any memorial contributions be made to P.W.'s beloved church's building fund for the youth wing of the new building at Brainerd Presbyterian Church. Anyone planning to donate, please indicate that it is for the building fund and include information so the church can inform the family of your support.
