James Robert “Jack” Gordon, 91, of East Ridge, died on Friday, November 14, 2014.

He was born June 24, 1923 in Houlka, Ms., to the late Robert Britt and Lillie Belle Gordon.

Mr. Gordon was preceded in death by his wife, Eloise B. Gordon, and a sister, Elouise Graves.  

Mr. Gordon was a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict, serving in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Crosspath Church of East Ridge where he served as deacon and Sunday school teacher. He was a member of the Chapel Sunday School Class.

Survivors include his wife, Marie Pinion Gordon; five children, Ron (Barbara) Gordon, Jackie (Al) Jolley, Pam (Bob) Neighbors, Brenda (Glen) Wolinsky, and Bret Gordon; brother, Fred Gordon; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 18, at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Dr. Ronnie Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 17.
