Bruce Palmer
Bruce Palmer died on Friday, November 7, 2014.
He was a resident of Signal Mountain and was a member of Saint Andrews Reformed Episcopal Church.
Mr. Palmer was born on Dec. 26, 1932, in Boston. He earned a BA from Williams University where he played football. He later obtained a MA from Brandice ?as well as an MA from the University of Madrid.
Bruce previously lived in Stockton, N.J., where he taught English and Humanities for many years at private and public schools and colleges in the New Jersey area. He was also a writer of more than 10 books including titles such as They Shall Not Pass about the Spanish Civil War, Last Bull Run and ?Chancelersville.
As a lifelong writer he also wrote for local newspapers including the Lambervile Beacon.
Bruce was proceeded in death by his wife of 50 years, Suzanne ?Palmer.
?He is survived by his children, Mark of Signal mountain, Matthew of Pensacola, and Maria of Erwinna, Pa., as well as his sister, Diane Clare of Wayland, Ma., and grandchildren, ?Geoffrey, Rachelle and Natalie Palmer, Harrison Palmer, and Griffin and Marin Shankin.
Memorial services will be held at Saint Andrews Anglican Church on Sunday, Nov. 9, at 2 p.m.
