James Richard Medlen, 47, of Dalton, GA, passed away Thursday, June 19, 2014.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Charles D. Medlen Sr. and was a member of the Central Church of Christ. He worked for Al Johnson Volkswagon and loved the outdoors, family and friends. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother and uncle.
James is survived by his loving wife of 6 years, Shana Hayes Medlen of Dalton; daughter, Lexie Cochran of Dalton; parents, Charles D. Medlen Jr. and Catherine Christine Medlen of Greer, SC; grandmother, Juanita Hall Medlen of Huntsville, AL; brother and sister-in-law, Charlie and Mandy Medlen of Simpsonville, SC; sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Matt Bares of Daniel Island, SC; uncle and aunt, Ricky and Joanie Medlen of Meridianville, AL; father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Judy Hayes of Dalton; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Holly and Keith Rollins of Dalton; nieces and nephews, Madison Bares, Davis Bares, Owen Medlen, Parker Medlen, Hayes Rollins and Cass Rollins; several cousins; and a special family at Central Church of Christ.
Memorial services will be Saturday, June 21 at 2 p.m. at the Central Church of Christ.
The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday, June 21 from 1-2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the Central Church of Christ Building Fund, P.O. Box 1201 Dalton, Ga 30722-1201.
