Mitchell “Mitch” Westbrook, 64, of Ringgold, died on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at a local hospital.

He was a lifelong resident of North Georgia where he was a 1968 graduate of Rossville High School. He received an associate’s degree from Walker Tech and had worked for Combustion Engineering, Farm Bureau, and Gary Thacker Insurance.  Mitch had a charismatic and Infectious personality and will be dearly missed.  He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, four wheeling, and working in his yard.

He was preceded in death by his father, Marcus A. Westbrook, Sr.; brother, Mark Westbrook; and stepfather, Lyle Graham.

Survivors include his children, Matthew (Carrie) Westbrook of Ringgold, Tyler (Tiffanie) Westbrook of Canton, Ga., and Katelyn Westbrook of Chattanooga; mother, Sybil Graham of Rossville; five grandchildren, Jaxon, Simon, Max, Nina, and Campbell Westbrook; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 6, at 2 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Reverend Jim Bennett officiating.

Interment will follow in the Dunagan Cemetery in Rocky Face, Ga.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, at the end of Historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
