Robert C. “Rob” Taylor, 84, of Cleveland, TN, passed away Monday, September 22, 2014 in a local health care facility.
Rob was the son of the late Clyta Henderson Taylor and Roy J. Taylor; and was also preceded in death by his brothers, Glen and Arnold Taylor.
Rob was retired from Caterpillar with over 31 years of service. He served as the Store’s Control Clerk. After his retirement he along with his wife Wilma was faithful employees of Jim Rush Funeral Homes for a number of years! He was U. S. Army Veteran serving in the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed fishing, music and playing his guitar. Rob was very active church member. He served as treasurer and deacon with Burlington Heights Baptist Church and he served as deacon with the Four Point Baptist Church where he was a faithful member.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Wilma Taylor of Cleveland; his son, Steve Taylor and his wife Jayne also of Cleveland; his grandchildren, Jeff Brown and his wife Lora of Murfreesboro, Ashley Gosell and her husband Josh of Charleston, Jay Brown and his wife Kristy of Oklahoma City and Alyssa Taylor of Cleveland; his great-grandson, Ty Brown of Oklahoma City; his sister, Wilma Barnes of Conway, AR; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The Remembrance of Life Graveside Service and Interment will be conducted Wednesday, September 24, at 2 p.m. from Sunset Memorial Gardens with Reverend Ray Cheathem officiating. Family and friends will serve as casket bearers. Military honors will be given. A Dove release will conclude the service.
