Man Was Coherent, Responsive After Being Hit By Train At Ooltewah

Police said a man was responsive and coherent after being struck by a train at Ooltewah early Monday morning.

Wade Witherow, 58, sustained significant, but non-life threatening injuries.

Earlier this morning a Norfolk Southern conductor called 911 to report that a person had been struck by a train near 5400 Woodhaven Lane.

 

When officers arrived on scene they they located Mr. Witherow lying between the tracks. 

 

The Chattanooga Fire Department arrived shortly after police and treated Mr. Witherow’s leg until EMS arrived.  

 

EMS transported him to a local hospital and Norfolk Southern Police arrived.

It happened around 5:15 a.m.
