Betty Jane Pair, 80, died on October 4, 2015.

She was born on May 11, 1935 to the late Joseph E. Harding and Etta Lee Harding. She was a lifelong member of Oakwood Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and was a Sunday School teacher for 26 years.

She was preceded in death by her three sisters, Jewell Lee, Dixie Henley, and Barbara Meherg.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Billy Joe Pair; sons, Joey (Diana) Pair and Jeff (Cheryl) Pair; grandchildren, Jeffery, Joseph, Bryan, and Jason Pair; great grandchildren, Beren, Isa, and Elly Pair; many beloved extended family members.

Betty’s greatest loves were her church, family, and sports. Betty was captain of the girls’ basketball team at Tyner High School. She spent many years enjoying comradery with the other sports moms as she attended her sons’ baseball games and Billy’s church softball and basketball games.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, Oct. 8, from 5-8 p.m. at the Highway 58 Chapel of Turner Funeral Home or you may visit the online guestbook at www.turnerfamilyfuneralhome.com.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Oct. 9, at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Ken Clark officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery with Milfred Howard and members of Oakwood Baptist Church serving as pallbearers.
