Charles Junior Godwin, 78, of Soddy Daisy, died on Saturday, November 7, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was a native of Grove Oak, Al., and a graduate of Geraldine High School. He lived in Chattanooga many years before settling in Soddy Daisy. Charles was of the Methodist faith and retired from Combustion Engineering after many years. He loved to rebuild automobiles, build houses for his family and enjoyed visiting Hardees in Soddy Daisy. Charles had a dry sense of humor all the way to the end. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Nora Godwin and his brother and sister-in-law, Coy and Beurline Godwin. 

Survivors include his daughters, Lisa Godwin, Laura “Missy” Godwin and Shana Godwin; grandson, Tanner Mikel; sisters, Susie Armstrong and Joyce Hoskins; constant friend, Patricia and several nieces and nephews. 

Services will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 11, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Williamson and Sons Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Visitation is on Tuesday, Nov. 10, from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
