Woman Says She Was Beaten After Boyfriend Said She Was Not Appreciative Of Him Buying Her Food

A 30-year-old woman told police she was beaten by her boyfriend after he became upset that she was not appreciative for him buying her food.

Spencer Wade Cayce, 39, of Sparta, Tn., was charged with aggravated burglary, aggravated assault and interference with emergency call.

In the incident on Sunday, the woman said they were coming from Fanatics when he became upset and hit her in the shoulder and elbowed her. She said when she laughed he became angrier.

She said he continued to hit her, and she got her phone out to call for help. She said he grabbed the phone and threw it out of her truck.

The woman said when they got to her residence that Cayce got out of the vehicle and she locked it so he could not get back inside. She said she began honking the horn to try to alert neighbors.

She said Cayce began to punch the passenger side window with his fist. She said he then grabbed a concrete brick and hit the glass numerous times.

She said he then went to the front door of her house and kicked it in.

The woman said she then got out of the truck and he grabbed her by the hair and threw her to the ground. She said he then grabbed the brick and began hitting her.

She said he told her he had killed someone before and that if she contacted police "they will never find the body."

Police said Cayce resisted arrest when they tried to take him into custody on Lee Highway.
