Two of Chattanooga’s architectural firms, River Street Architecture and Frank McDonald Architects, FMA, have joined forces.
Terry Barker, senior partner at River Street said, ”River Street is thrilled to have the addition of FMA's veteran designers, Christopher Humkey and Donald Sells with Frank McDonald working as a senior architect.” Frank McDonald, who started FMA in 1985, said, “We feel the goals and standards of River Street Architects and FMA completely align.”
Both firms boast a range of architectural projects, many of which have played a role in the revitalization of the downtown Chattanooga. FMA was involved in the design of the The Trolley Car Barns and Big River, Riverset Apartments, Hennen’s, the Miller’s building renovation and sections of the Riverwalk. River Street recently contributed to making Chattanooga a destination for outdoor enthusiasts by converting a downtown parking garage into a climbing center known as The Block. In addition, River Street has completed designs for four hotels, the Townhomes at Cameron Harbor, the Cambridge Square Development, and a new office building for Vision Hospitality Group – all in Chattanooga and its surrounding areas.
Frank McDonald said, “Because the two firms share a commitment to design quality, professionalism, client respect and team building, the match is a strong one.”
The partners at River Street include Terry Barker, Rob Fowler, Justin Dumsday and Michael McGowan who oversee the firm’s 12 employees.
