Bitter Cold To Contribute To Hazardous Driving Conditions, Saturday Night, Sunday

  • Saturday, January 23, 2016

Bitter cold air moving into the Chattanooga area on Saturday night will contribute to hazardous driving conditions.

The National Weather Service said, "Due to the combination of subfreezing temperatures and the snow and ice accumulation, any untreated roads will remain very hazardous overnight and into the morning on Sunday.

"Travel in several areas is still discouraged.

"If you must travel, check road conditions before heading out. Pack an emergency kit. Use extreme caution and leave extra time to reach your destination.

"If you must be out on Saturday night or Sunday morning, dress warmly and ensure that all exposed skin is covered."
