Early Morning Fire Damages Duplex

Chattanooga firefighters responded to a duplex fire at 1200 Sheridan Ave. shortly after 3 a.m. Battalion Chief Don Bowman said the duplex was fully involved in flames when the first firefighters arrived on the scene. Chief Bowman said firefighters with four fire companies quickly got the fire under control.
An estimate on the dollar loss was not available, but the fire caused extensive damage. No injuries were reported.

Volunteers with the American Red Cross were called in to provide assistance to two elderly males who were displaced by the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Chattanooga Police, Hamilton County EMS and EPB also provided assistance on the scene.
