BASF will bring its Kids' Lab to Orchard Knob Elementary School on Friday
BASF, the world’s leading chemical company, is bringing its Kids’ Lab program to Orchard Knob Elementary School. Students will be exploring the science behind energy by building balloon-powered Lego cars and racing classmates.
The Kids' Lab will be at the school on Friday morning.
The event will include BASF employee volunteers, Orchard Knob Elementary School Principal LaFrederick Thirkill, teachers and nearly 100 fifth grade students.
Students will participate in hands-on chemistry experiments and activities designed to spark an appreciation for science and how it energizes the world around them.
BASF and Orchard Knob Elementary School have been partners in chemistry education for more than 30 years. BASF Kids’ Lab is a global program for children (ages 6 – 12) creating fun with chemistry and encouraging kids to explore the connections between chemistry and the world around them through safe and engaging, hands-on experiments, said officials. Kids’ Lab was first established at BASF’s global headquarters in Germany in 1997 and currently engages more than 472,000 kids in 35 countries worldwide.
