Ralph Lee Dameron, 87, of Woodleaf, North Carolina, formerly of Chattanooga, Tennessee,  passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center, Charlotte. 

Born Dec. 23, 1929 in Raleigh, he was the son of the late Raymond A. Dameron and Anna Stephenson Dameron Owen. 

Mr. Dameron was educated in the Raleigh and Salisbury schools, he attended Boyden High School and Edwards Military Institute, Salemburg.  He was a veteran of the US Air Force during the Korean War, and was honorably discharged. 

Mr. Dameron was a salesman before retiring.  He was a member of Unity Presbyterian Church, the Session House Sunday School Class, a member of the choir and served as an elder.  Mr. Dameron loved his church and used his talents to help in any way he could and was a former Boy Scout Master. 

He was an eight time All American Skeet Shooter having won state and national titles and setting several records. 

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a grandson, Deric Horton. 

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 65 years, Jean Wetmore Dameron; sons, David Dameron and wife Shirley of Flintstone, Ga., Danny Dameron and wife Debbie of Chattanooga, Donald Dameron and wife Susan of Ooltewah; grandchildren, Darah Card and husband Bryan, Drew Dameron and wife Laurel, Dale Dameron and wife Heather, Derek Dameron and wife Bethany; and great-grandchildren, Lane Card, Vera Dameron and Grant Card. 

The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 26, at Summersett Funeral Home, 1315 W. Innes St., Salisbury, NC 28144. 

A celebration of life for Mr. Dameron will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 27, at Unity Presbyterian Church, 885 Woodleaf-Barber Road, Woodleaf, NC 27054, with the Rev. Kevin Conley officiating.  Mr. Dameron will lie in state 30 minutes before the service. Interment will follow at the church cemetery with Military Graveside Rites conducted by the US Air Force and the Rowan County Veterans Honor Guard. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to Unity Presbyterian Church, PO Box 28, Woodleaf, NC  27054.
