Oldest Living Member Of Fairview Methodist Church Retired From American Lava

Jessie Faye Hixson, 94, of Chattanooga, passed away on Wednesday, December 6, 2017.

Jessie was born in Chattanooga on March 3, 1923, to the late Samuel and Sally (Cross) Ferguson. She was a retired quality control inspector for American Lava and was the oldest living member of Fairview Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth A. Hixson, her parents, five brothers, and four sisters including her twin, Essie Mae. Survivors include her son, Kenneth C. Hixson and wife, Cheryl; and grandson, Damon.

The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 8, and 1-2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 9, at Chattanooga Funeral Home North Chapel.

The funeral service will be on Saturday, Dec. 9, at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Entombment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Fairview United Methodist Church, 3901 Hamill Road, Hixson, Tn. 37343.

 Arrangements are under the care of the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
