Joseph Paul “J. P.” Brown, Jr., 86, of Cleveland, Tennessee, died on Wednesday, August 23, 2017.

 

The son of the late Joseph Paul and Amy Ada Parks Brown, he was a lifetime farmer and a member of McDonald United Methodist Church. He retired from Central Soya after 37 years of service.

 

He is survived by his wife, Martha Rogers Brown; daughter, Kathy (Randall) Ownby; granddaughter, Becky Ownby Brady; grandsons, Stephen (Mary) Ownby and David (Tiffany Dessert) Ownby; great-grandchildren, Bryan and Addison Ownby and Sydney Brady; brothers, Dennis (Barbara) Brown, all of Cleveland, Tn.; and sister, Anna Lue (Dale) Miller, of McDonald, Tn.

 

Funeral services will be held at Black Fox United Methodist Church, 1820 Old Chattanooga Pike SW, Cleveland, Tn., on Monday, Aug. 28, at noon Eastern Time, with Reverend Mark Barber and Reverend Jake Herron officiating. Interment will be in Lebanon Laurel Hill Cemetery.

 

The family will gather with friends for visitation at the church on Sunday, August 27, 2017 from 3:00 – 7:00 pm Eastern Time.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Lebanon-Laurel Hill Cemetery Fund, 722 Lebannon Valley Church Road SW, Cleveland, Tn. 37311, or the Bradley County 4-H Livestock Fund, 95 Church Street SE, Cleveland, Tn. 37311.
