Crews Get All Power Back On After Remnants Of Irma Hit Chattanooga

  • Wednesday, September 13, 2017

With assistance from several Tennessee municipal utilities, coops and contractors, EPB crews restored power overnight to all customers impacted by the storms from Irma.

Smart Grid automation and remote repairs prevented about 32,000 customers from experiencing a lasting outage, but extensive storm damage, including downed trees, snapped poles and lines and damaged equipment like transformers required about two days to repair.

Officials said, "We appreciate the patience of our customers as we worked to get the power back on for everybody."
