Lajeromeny L. Brown, 40, Arrested On Multiple Charges After Leading Police On High-Speed Chase

  • Thursday, October 11, 2018
Lajeromeny L. Brown, 40, was arrested on multiple charges on Monday.

Officers with the Chattanooga Police Department attempted a felony traffic stop on Monday, at approximately 12:46 p.m., at Jersey Pike and Hancock Road.

As officers approached, the vehicle fled at a high rate of speed. CPD Street Crimes and Patrol Officers followed the vehicle until it came to the 7400 block of Noah Reid Road.
The roadway is closed to motor vehicle traffic at that point, and Brown's vehicle left the roadway, and came to a stop after striking the Norfolk Southern railroad tracks. Brown was apprehended at that time.

Brown suffered non-life threatening injuries when he crashed the vehicle he was driving. He was transported by Hamilton County EMS to a local hospital. No officers or federal agents were injured. Three CPD vehicles were damaged in the pursuit.

Brown is considered a violent felon and a suspect in an Aug. 15 incident being investigated by CPD's Robbery Unit. The reporting party stated to police she was outside her home when approached by two black men brandishing handguns who yelled "Chattanooga Police" and forced their way inside her home. The suspects held the victim against her will while they stole electronics, a cellular phone, and vehicle. Brown is also wanted by federal agents for probation violations.

Brown is facing multiple charges to include aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary, aggravated kidnapping, impersonating a police officer, and assault on police. More charges could be added as the investigation continues. CPD and ATF agents continue to pursue leads on other suspects involved with the robbery that occurred on Aug. 15.
