  • Thursday, October 25, 2018

Hamilton County Collegiate High School at Chattanooga State Community College has been named a Level 5 School on the Tennessee Value-Added Assessment System (TVAAS) report for 2018. TVAAS measures student growth from one year to the next. The value-added growth models determine how effective teachers and schools are in helping students gain at least a year’s worth of learning while taking into consideration the student’s academic history.

A congratulatory letter from Tennessee State Senator Bo Watson was received by Collegiate High Principal Dr. Sonja Rich that said, “This remarkable accomplishment is a testament to your hard work and commitment to academic success. You should take great pride in the progress you have achieved over the past year.”

The Collegiate High program, formerly known as Middle College High School, premiered on the Chattanooga State campus in 2001. Collegiate High offers students the opportunity to earn a high school diploma and an associate's degree.

Nationally, Collegiate High students are some of the most sought-after students. Its graduates continue their education in colleges and universities across the nation. Ninety percent of Collegiate High graduates transfer to a four-year college or university. Additionally, its ACT composite continues to rank above the state and national average.
