Morning Pointe Announces New Leadership Roles

  • Wednesday, January 30, 2019

Morning Pointe Senior Living and Independent Healthcare Properties have laid the groundwork for a bright 2019 with new leadership roles, bringing together the power of operations and marketing. The Chattanooga-based senior healthcare company announces that Aaron Barthle will now serve as vice president of Information Technology while Lauren Lee will assume the role of vice president of Culture and Talent. MaryBeth Watson, formerly of Brookdale Senior Living, will join the team as area director of Operations, Cumberland Area (TN) based in Nashville, and former regional vice president, Bluegrass Region (KY) Mandy Taylor, RN, will fill the role of senior vice president of Clinical Services.

Since 2011, Mr. Barthle has worked for Morning Pointe in an information technology capacity, emphasizing service above all else. A graduate of Southern Adventist University, Mr. Barthle oversees a dedicated team of technology professionals that actively provide technology services and support for all of Morning Pointe’s communities. As a founding member of Morning Pointe’s IT team, Mr. Barthle has been privileged to lead out in both IT infrastructure and personnel growth. He has continued to enhance the delivery of technology services by making strategic partnerships with over two dozen vendor and service provider organizations. “I thrive at the intersection of technology and people. It really is all about the people you serve. Making an impact on people’s lives, making them better, or their jobs easier, that’s where the fulfillment is for me,” he said.

Another Southern Adventist University alumna, Ms. Lee, a CPA, has been with Morning Pointe since 2009. She has served the company’s corporate office in a variety of roles, beginning as an intern and continuing in her career in purchasing, budgets, accounting, and operational support as well as career growth training. “What I love about Morning Pointe is its people and the integrity with which it conducts business. I have always felt as if I am a part of the Morning Pointe family,” she said.

A 20-year veteran of the senior living industry, Ms. Watson comes to Morning Pointe from Brookdale Senior Living. Over the course of her career, Ms. Watson assumed a variety of roles, including Memory Care and Resident Services director, and regional director of Operations as well as Divisional director of Service Alignment and Resident Solutions, overseeing the company’s e-commerce platform. A graduate of St. Petersburg College in Seminole, Florida, Ms. Watson is currently pursuing a Business Administration degree at Austin Peay University. “I am very excited to begin my career with Morning Pointe. I look forward to serving our residents and associates the Morning Pointe way,” she said.

In the past, Ms. Taylor has served as both Morning Pointe’s Regional Vice President of Operations and regional director of Nursing for the Bluegrass Region (KY/IN). She earned her RN from Midway College in Midway, Ky., and boasts experience across the healthcare spectrum, having served as Director of Professional Services for a home health agency, director of Nursing in skilled nursing facility, and as a direct patient care giver in medical-surgical nursing and mental health settings. In her role as Senior Vice President of Clinical Services, Ms. Taylor will help ensure that Morning Pointe’s clinical policies and procedures are effective and uniform while helping to develop clinical strategies that benefit residents and associates. Finally, Ms. Taylor will help Morning Pointe create innovative clinical products and services. “I am honored to have the opportunity to help ensure that Morning Pointe maintains a strong clinical focus in our approach to resident care,” she said.

“We are excited about these new leadership changes, as we continue to respond to the changing senior living industry and the needs of the residents and families we serve,” said Greg A. Vital, the president and CEO of Morning Pointe Senior Living.
