Police Say Jamycal Johnson Is Seen On Video Firing 2 Shots At Brandon Rogers At Coyote Jacks

Police said video from Coyote Jacks showed Jamycal Johnson fire two shots at 19-year-old Brandon Rogers. The victim died after being taken to the hospital.

Johnson, 24, was charged with criminal homicide.

Police said as an event at the club at 1400 Cowart St. was being closed down a large altercation broke out.

The shots were fired near where some patrol officers were located, it was stated.

Police said, "The arrest came after an extensive investigation by Chattanooga Police Department Homicide investigators, along with the assistance of multiple community members.

During the course of the investigation, CPD collected video from numerous cameras, reviewed the footage, and were able to determine Johnson to be the suspect from the shooting that claimed the life Brandon Rogers on Oct. 6.  Additionally, physical evidence located on scene links Johnson to the crime scene at the time of the incident." 

Johnson is currently in custody at the Hamilton County Jail. 

The owner of Coyote Jacks, Tammie Taylor, said afterward that she plans to close the problem-plagued saloon.
