Kenneth “Ken” Grayson Tipton, III, age 48, of Chattanooga, passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2019.

Ken was born in the Netherlands and attended UTC.  He served our country in the United States Army for over 13 years.  He was trained at Fort Sill, Fort Sam Houston, Fort Drum and Fort Campbell.  U.S. Sgt. Ken, retired Combat Medic, served a tour in Operation of Iraqi Freedom in Iraq, two tours in Afghanistan and two years in Korea. Ken attended Delashmitt Road Baptist Church.  

Ken is survived by his mother, Brenda S. Zeanah, father and step-mother, Ken Tipton, Jr. and Kay Tipton; one sister and brother-in-law, Margaret Anne “Maggie” and Jeff Stockton along with his niece, McKenna and nephew, Brock Stockton; and numerous family members. 

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, July 5, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

A Celebration of Life service will follow at 1 p.m. on Friday at the North Chapel with Reverend Ronnie Smith officiating.  Burial will be at Chattanooga National Cemetery with full military honors.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Delashmitt Road Baptist Church, 4709 Delashmitt Road, Hixson, TN 37343.
