Iris Evelyn Doss
Iris Evelyn Doss, 86, passed away August 18, 2019 in Huntersville, N.C.
She was born on April 16, 1933 in Chattanooga. She moved to Buffalo, N.Y. at the age of five and lived there until age 35. She relocated to Ooltewah near Chattanooga afterwards before residing with her daughter in Atlanta in later years. She worked as an LPN at Parkwood Healthcare and Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Janie Craddock Bonner, Buffalo, NY, father, Earl Bates, Summit, TN; brother, William Ray Bonner, Buffalo, NY.
Survivors include her daughters, Dawn (Oliver) Ballou-Anderson, Lithonia, GA, Thomasa Ballou, Chattanooga, TN; son, Kevin Ballou, Lithonia, GA; sisters, Jeannette L. (Teddy) Davis, Lithonia, GA, Shirley Bonner (Harold) Cooper; brother, Walter Lee Bonner, Pawtucket, RI; granddaughters, Letreivia (Kevin) Hardnett, Hixson, TN, Shani Janneh Hooper, Stone Mountain, GA, Shamari (Ronald) Devoe, Atlanta, GA, Brandi Ballou, Chattanooga, TN; grandsons, Raymond Kenneth Fears, Lithonia, GA, Donnie Garner, Jr., San Diego, California; 6 grand grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, 14 great-great grandchildren; uncle, Titus L. Bates, Ooltewah, TN; a very special niece, Lauren Thomas (Toney) Hall, Charlotte, NC; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family visitation will be from 12 noon-1 p.m. Saturday, August 31, 2019 at the funeral home. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. in the chapel.
Interment will be Ooltewah Cemetery
