Baker Donelson shareholder Jim Levine has been elected by the Firm's shareholders to serve as a member of the Firm's board of directors for a three-year term.
Mr. Levine, who works from Baker Donelson's Chattanooga and Washington, D.C. offices, practices in the areas of commercial lending, mergers and acquisitions, business organizations and commercial contracts. He has experience in health care financing, particularly in the representation of financial institutions and borrowers in HUD-insured loan transactions for long term care, senior housing and multifamily housing facilities. He has been counsel in hundreds of HUD-insured loans totaling approximately $2 billion for projects in more than 40 states.
Mr. Levine has been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America in the areas of Business Organizations and Commercial Finance Law, and he was named the Best Lawyers' 2018 Chattanooga "Lawyer of the Year" in the area of Business Organizations. He has also been recognized in Mid-South Super Lawyers since 2009.
A graduate of Yale University and Tulane University Law School, Mr. Levine is chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Chattanooga Housing Authority. He previously served on the boards of the Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce and the T.C. Thompson Children's Hospital Foundation, and is a member of the Rotary Club of Chattanooga.
