The Geheime Staatspolizei terrorized the opposition in a country in 1930s and 1940s. The Sondergericht was a secret court set up outside the framework of constitutional law to remove the opposition in that same country.
Robert Reich, former Clinton Secretary of Labor recently tweeted, “When this nightmare is over, we need a Truth and Reconciliation Commission. It would erase Trump’s lies, comfort those who have been harmed by his hatefulness, and name every official, politician, executive and media mogul whose greed and cowardice enabled this catastrophe.”
After taking power, dictators identify the opposition for retaliation then institute revisionism or the rewriting history and begin re-education to remove any vestiges of things offending the dictator. Compare what dictators do to the words of Robert Reich and others agreeing with him. Look at history to see what was done after the French Revolution or when the Bolsheviks came to power or when Hitler became Fuhrer. We’ve seen the early stages already here as statues and monuments have been destroyed during the violent rioting recently.
National Review cites responses to Reich‘s Tweet. “I am thinking of using the Nuremberg Trials as a template,” one person tweeted. This person went on to say people should be tried, convicted and imprisoned. Another said, “we are broken and need to be restructured so this can never happen again.” One more suggested it should be called the Truth and Consequences Commission. And still another suggested all federal judges appointed by Trump should be kicked out. So forget due process and constitutional law the cries go up as the mob begins to form.
Would Reich be the commissar of this Truth Commission? Would those who disagree with the new order be sent to re-education camps? Would those of us who resist be sent to detention camps like Treblinka or Dachau?

In the debate President Trump should ask Joe Biden what the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s role in his administration would be. Joe will likely not answer.
If Joe wins, will we be able to use the “no answer” argument if his Geheime Staatspolizei or Gestapo come to drag us before Commissar Reich and his Sondergehricht or Truth and Reconciliation Commission?
