Police, Firefighters And Teachers Deserve More Pay - And Response

  • Saturday, October 24, 2020

I don't have a dog in the fight, however, I know this.  Who are the people that run towards gunfire, wrecks, fights, burglaries and other calamities?  Policemen!  Who are the people that run into burning houses and buildings to search for occupants and if they find them, they will give their life to rescue them?  Firefighters!  Both of these groups deserve the best, along with our teachers.

I don't know how much it would cost the city of Chattanooga to bring up 100 firefighters over the poverty level but I bet it's there somewhere.  The life and property the fire and police save may be your own and teachers save lives in other ways. Come on man, do it.

This is embarrassing. The folks who rush into a fire get paid less than poverty scale. Chattanooga should be ashamed.
