H. Steve Lands, 69, of Hixson, went home to be with our Lord on Sunday, November 22, 2020, at his home, surrounded by his family.

He was of the Baptist faith.

Steve was a Past Master of East Lake Masonic Lodge, member of Brainerd Lodge # 736, member of Sunnyside Eastern Star, member and treasurer of Alhambra Shrine Center, Past President of Opossum Creek Shrine Club, and Past President of Red Fez Shrine Club.

He owned a Cushman and loved ridding in parades. He loved the Shrine and helping children. As a Shriner says, "A man never stands so tall as when he stoops to help a child."

He was preceded in death by an infant son, Stanley Brian Lands; parents, Rufus and Marie Lands of Fayette, Alabama.

Steve is survived by his loving wife, Marti; son, Bradly (Trisha) Lands of Al.; sister, Susan (George) Moore of Trenton; nieces, Nicole (Kelsey) Williams of Nashville, and Hallie (Zake) Vice of Trenton; stepchildren, Angiee (Randy) Mitchell, Kim Goins, both of Chattanooga, and David (Amanda) Massengale of Harrison; several grandchildren.


The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 29 and 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Monday at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Steve will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, at the North Chapel with a Masonic Service to follow.

Burial will be in Chattanooga Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Alhambra Shrine Center, Ronald McDonald  House, or Avalon Hospice.

We respectfully request that social distancing, wearing masks at all times, and all CDC measures be adhered to at the funeral home and cemetery.

Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, Tn. 37343.
