Longtime Channel 9 weatherman Bill Race is in a hospital struggling with COVID-19.

A message on his Facebook page from Wednesday night says:

"Prayers are working! He has had good oxygen levels this afternoon and evening. They have had him 'proning' laying on his belly and his oxygen has stayed strong. He is still extremely weak but medical staff is pleased.
 
"I haven’t been able to talk to him - that is so hard. I have had to release him to God’s care and get out of the way. Those who know me know how hard this is for me. Please continue to join me in prayer for Bill. I know he is loved by so many!!"
