Tennessee Has 5,257 New Cases, 51 More COVID Deaths; New Stats For Hamilton County To Be Released Saturday

The number of coronavirus cases in Tennessee is at 546,497 on Wednesday with 5,257 new cases. There have been 51 more deaths from the virus, for a total of 6,431, said state Health Department officials.

The state currently has 2,944 people hospitalized from the virus, 17 less than on Wednesday.

Hamilton County COVID-19 numbers will not be released again until Saturday. They have been setting new records almost daily.

Testing numbers are above 5.413 million across the state. 

The number of people who have recovered from coronavirus in Tennessee is 462,694, 85 percent.

Here are the numbers by county:

Bledsoe County:  1,493 cases, up 5; 9 deaths

Bradley County:  8,471, up 65; 64 deaths, up 1

Grundy County: 1,122 cases, up 13; 15 deaths

Marion County: 1,727 cases, up 13; 25 deaths

Meigs County: 889 cases, up 12; 14 deaths

Polk County: 1,076 cases, up 9; 15 deaths

Rhea County: 2,920 cases, up 29; 45 deaths

Sequatchie County: 1,063 cases, up 10; 10 deaths

Knox 30,116 cases, up 426; 264 deaths, up 5

Davidson 57,833 cases, up 503; 537 deaths, up 8

Shelby 62,981 cases, up 595; 837 deaths, up 2
