Soddy Daisy Man Facing Multiple Child Sex Charges

  • Tuesday, February 18, 2020

A Soddy Daisy man has been charged with multiple counts of child sexual abuse.

The charges against Roy Benton were brought in Rhea County, where he formerly lived.

An investigation began in December after authorities checked out a report of children living in squalid conditions at a Soddy Daisy residence.

Girls who had been at the home made allegations against Benton.

He is charged with five counts of child rape, four counts of aggravated sexual battery, and five other sexual abuse charges.

Benton was arrested Monday by Soddy Daisy Police who stopped his vehicle.

The girls were placed in foster care.
