KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Dalton State senior guards Randy Bell and Kevon Tucker were named to the NAIA All-American team on Wednesday.
Bell garnered first team honors, while Tucker was named honorable mention. Since the Roadrunners became eligible for awards and postseason play in 2014, at least one men's basketball player has made the All-American list.
Bell led the Roadrunners with 17.3 points per game, was the Southern States Athletic Conference Co-Player of the Year with Milan Skundric of Faulkner (Ala.), and won the SSAC Tournament MVP award. He is the second first team selection in school history joining Ladaris Green who was named to the first team in the 2014-15 season. Bell accomplished this as the sixth man notching just five starts and playing 26 minutes per game.
Tucker was right behind Bell in scoring averaging 16.2 points per game and was a SSAC 1st-Team All-Conference selection. His season-high 31 points led the Roadrunners to an early season road win at Life (Ga.) on December 11. He saw the most action of any player on the roster with 1096 minutes played and nailed 65 three pointers on the season. He was also the only player to start all 33 games during the 2019-20 season.
Dalton State finished the season 30-3 and won their second SSAC Tournament title. The Roadrunners also set school records for consecutive wins in a season with 17 and regular season wins with 27. They were awarded a #1-seed in the NAIA Tournament that was later canceled.
