Local builder Jay Bell has been named by County Mayor Jim Coppinger to serve on the board of the Hamilton County Water Wastewater Treatment Authority. Mr. Bell replaces Mike Moon as the builder representative on the board.
Officials said, "Over his 30+ year career, Mr. Bell and his company have built more than 3,200 homes in 15 communities throughout Hamilton County. With Bell Development subdivisions located in East Brainerd, Hixson, Lakesite, Ooltewah, Red Bank, Signal Mountain and Soddy Daisy, Mr.
Bell knows the county well. Mr. Bell has been an active member of the Homebuilders Association of Greater Chattanooga serving as past president and a member of the board for more than 10 years. He also served as area vice president of the Homebuilders Association of Tennessee. Mr. Bell is a licensed real estate broker and is also a licensed contractor."
Mayor Jim Coppinger said, “The WWTA board is made up of professionals from various industries and we are grateful that Jay has agreed to serve as the representative from the builders’ industry. With three decades of building experience across Hamilton County, Jay’s skills and expertise will be a great asset.”
WWTA board Chairman Dick Gee said, “The board of the Hamilton County WWTA is an active group of volunteer leaders who work collaboratively for the unincorporated areas in Hamilton County, as well as the cities of East Ridge, Lakesite, Lookout Mountain, Red Bank, Ridgeside and Signal Mountain. Jay has worked in many of these areas. He knows the communities, but more importantly, the communities know Jay. We look forward to working with him for the betterment of our county and the customers we serve.”
Mr. Bell and his wife, Shine, are the parents of two adult children, Carlos and Veronica.
