Conner Kapperman, O.D., of Chattanooga, was among 134 students awarded the doctor of optometry degree from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis.
Dr. Kapperman graduated Beta Sigma Kappa, a designation for students demonstrating
exceptional academic achievement.
"He also served as a student ambassador during his time at SCO, for which he played a key role leading tours for prospective students and visitors and representing the college at important events," officials said.
Finally, Dr. Kapperman earned the Outstanding Clinician Award for overall exemplary clinical performance, which comes with a $1,000 monetary award.
A native of Chattanooga, Dr. Kapperman is the son of Anita and Mark Kapperman. He is the
grandson of Linda Kapperman and Olivia and Vinson Thompson. Dr. Kapperman is a graduate of
Chattanooga School for the Arts and Sciences and Samford University. After graduation, he plans to
enter a residency in ocular disease and refractive and ocular surgery at Oklahoma Medical Eye Group in Tulsa, Ok.
