Wooden, Myrtle M. Scoggins (Cleveland)

Myrtle M. Scoggins Wooden, 88, of Cleveland, entered the gates of Heaven on July 18, 2020. Born on May 17, 1932, she was of the Baptist faith and had several hobbies, such as making quilts for her family and working in her yard.

She was preceded in death by father, Amos Scoggins; mother, Hattie Nation Scoggins McBee; husband, Herbert Wooden; infant daughter, Shirly Jean Wooden; brothers, Flavis, Aron and Billy Scoggins, of Cleveland; and sisters, Donna Moore, Juanita Scoggins, Carol Coe, all of Cleveland, Lena May Shaw, of Martinsville, Va. and Mamie Wooden, of Fayetteville, NC. 

She leaves behind the following to cherish her memories, daughters, Judy Parker, of Cleveland and Rebecca Beard, of Sevierville; sisters, Catherine Ledford, of Etowah and Thelma Morgan, of Springhill, Fl.; brothers, Charles McBee, of Cleveland and Calvin McBee, of Clemmons, NC;  #1 grandson, Tracy Beard, of Cleveland; granddaughters, Tammy Parker Lombardi, of Reliance, Karen Riley and Angie Cross, both of Cleveland; great-granddaughter, Myranda Stephens, of Chattanooga; great-grandsons, Colby and William Cooper, Mathew and Jeremy Stafford, Jacob Beard, Taylor and Jaylen Cross, all of Cleveland; great-great grandchildren, Kylan Cooper and Scarlett Stephens; and several nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren.

Paul Bearers will be the great-grandsons and honorary Felix Cross. A special thank you to Bradley Health Care and staff for the care, love and kindness given to our mother.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 21 at Companion Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 22 at Companion Funeral Home, with Pastor Josh Edwards officiating. Interment will be at Earls Cemetery.
