Polar Plunge For Special Olympics Tennessee Will Be Feb. 13

Wednesday, January 13, 2021

This year, the Chattanooga Polar Plunge, presented by Summers, Rufolo and Rodgers, will take place on Saturday, Feb. 13.

Whether participants jump, run or tiptoe in, they'll be helping build a "bigger, better, and cooler community" for the 17,000+ Special Olympics athletes. The Polar plunge has become the signature fundraising event of Special Olympics. Plunges take place all over the U.S. with 10 of those plunges taking place in Tennessee during February.

Participants will have the opportunity to plunge in person on site at Finley Stadium. Or for those not comfortable plunging in person, they may take part in the first Plunge at Home option. For those choosing this option, they may plunge at home, at school or at work by jumping in a pool, taking part in a water balloon fight, running through a sprinkler, or coming up with their own creative idea.

Visit www.polarplungetn.com to register or donate.

Special Olympics Tennessee has helped thousands of children and adults with intellectual disabilities realize new dreams through sports training and competition.

The 2021 Chattanooga Polar Plunge sponsors are Summers, Rufolo and Rodgers, EPB Fiber Optics, Quick Everett’s Garage, Chattanooga Allergy Clinic, WRCB and Chuy’s.

I arrived for my 9:30 appointment and ... (click for more)

Roy Exum: "White Allyship"

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, a-swirl in social justice reform yet sorely lacking in common sense, may be on the brink of alienating itself from the very community that supports it. Today the university will host a lecture and celebration focusing on ‘White Allies and Accountability’ when it is my view that such a distasteful folly will reversely reverberate within ...
